Saw action at Frederickstown, MD; Farmington, MS; New Madrid, MO; Siege of Corinth; Tupelo, MS, and Nashville, TN. Records show he was granted a 30-day furlough on 30 Mar 1864 to Arenzville, IL. Wounded in action (in the right hip and/or knee) at Nashville, TN, on 15 Dec 1864; in hospital at Covington, KY, on 16 Dec 1864. Discharged on 31 May 1865 at Main Street Hospital, Covington, KY, on surgeon’s certificate of disability caused by gunshot wound. Residence indicated on discharge was Meredosia.
