His name in the Cass County Draft Registration rolls (1863) indicates him as a resident of Arenzville precint with a service record in the 101st IL Inf. Pension records show a widow’s claim by “Mary Stricklin” in 1883 (but marriage records show his wife’s name was Elizabeth and she had remarried in 1878). Perhaps a relative of a William Strickland who lived in Indian Creek precinct, Cass County?
