Records for the 11th MO Inf show he entered service 30 Jul 1861; from July through Oct 1862, he was on the hospital rolls; he was discharged at Lagrange, TN on 25 Nov 1862. He mustered in to the 113th IL Inf in Jan 1864; records state he deserted while on furlough at Meredosia, IL in Nov 1864. His veteran’s grave marker cites service in the “11th IL Inf,” but rolls do not show a person who matches his information in that regiment. Undocumented transfer?
