Son of the founder of the village of Arenzville, Albert entered service when he was about 17 years old. Following the war, he served as a circuit clerk for Cass County and a justice of the peace in Morgan County. After retiring from the county employment, he moved to Springfield and worked for a time in the State Treasurer’s office.
