His name appears in the Draft Registration rolls of Cass County as a resident in Monroe precinct with prior military service. The muster rolls recorded his residence is “Aronsville.” He entered service (in Missouri) in 1861 and re-enlisted as a veteran, mustering out at the end of the war. He was a brother-in-law to Edward Kuechler. Pension records show application for a widow’s pension by his second wife, Susan. His granddaughter, Lora Triebert McCabe, left a bequest to Arenzville on her death in 2000.
