Alt name: Sandeman. A younger brother of Frederick K. Sandman (both are sons of Charles (Sr) and Dorothea Sandman, who were born in Germany). In the 1880 federal census, Charles (jr), age 33, is living in Arenzville and works on the farm. In the 1900 census, he is an inmate in the Jacksonville state hospital.
