Saw action at Frederickstown, MD; Farmington, MS; New Madrid, MO; Siege of Corinth; Tupelo, MS, and Nashville, TN. Records show he was granted a 30-day furlough on 30 Mar 1864 to Arenzville, IL. Wounded in action (in the right hip and/or knee) at Nashville, TN, on 15 Dec 1864; in hospital at Covington, KY, on 16 Dec 1864. Discharged on 31 May 1865 at Main Street Hospital, Covington, KY, on surgeon’s certificate of disability caused by gunshot wound. Residence indicated on discharge was Meredosia.

A Peter Plank, b. 1845, married and living in Indian Creek township, Cass County, IL, is found in the 1870 census.The census record aligns with information of the man who served in the Co I, 11th MO Inf. His service record shows he was granted furlough to Arenzville during his service and mention that his wife resided near Meredosia in Morgan county.
